New Seats for the beast!
Just wanted to get everyones opinion on a new set of seats for the min. I want to maintain access to the rear seats as I do cart a lot of junk around, so recliners are a must, has anyone had any experience good or bad? Any recommendations? How about fitting seats from another manufacturer? Apart from the seat frame what mods had to be done? Did you have anyproblems with the rear bins?!
Thanks guys and gals!

hey,
i've got a similar problem to yourself, looking for new front seats but still want rear access.
Ive got a 92 sprite and the drivers seat seems to er, how to put it, to be crap!!
i wanted to keep a retro kind of styling and dont want huge bucket seats, so im opting for the twin post headrest seats as seen in coopers fomr 92/93 on. Apparently they are more comfortable and wrap around a tiny bit more. and you can get them in variety of styles,
www.minitrimmings.com does them all, thats where im getting mine
They still recline so should be ok!!!

Impreza seats in a mini??
does anyone know if impreza wrx seats will fit in a mini?? any idea of how much of a job it will be??

I've been having the same problem!
got corsa sport seats at the moment, and looking for something that will look better as well as ride lower (the corsa seats seem high).
I have been looking at impreza wrx seats, but having difficulties finding a pair that will tilt forward.
I'd like sport seats, although not quite buckets. any ideas??
how much access do you have with those cobra buckets?

Not as bad as you would think. I slide them all the way ahead then flip up... I'm happy.

are they comfortable? will they work with regular seat belts?
Posted: May 14, 2007 05:17 PM
They are very comfortable, but likely would not be for someone "wider" than myself... they have a lot of side support and if your sides are, uh, wider... I am six feet 230 lbs. if that helps. Regular seat belts do work 100%.
Keep in mind I need these seats for autocross... but I love them.

I'd just like to ask...would you recomend them for every day use? especially if I'll maybe need to get people into the back?

I have thought about this and will try to give you an honest answer: Maybe not.
I love them; they suit my purpose perfectly. -BUT- I don't carry passengers in the back except for my wee son in his car seat... (he loves Daddy's "vroomcar") They do work, but a more "normal" seat may work a little better for you (I'm not 100% sure though). They do sit nice and low... :)
If I used my mini for more day to day normal purposes the cobra seats might p*ss me off, to be truthful. Sorry I didn't give more thought to this earlier.
For a weekend fun car they're awesome.

thanks for your opinion! I'd rather hear that than make the mistake of buying them!

Well, ive got the new cobra clubmans, they fit perfectly with regular seat belts, if you tilt them forward, they only go a small amount before hitting the headlining - you would only be able to fit a child through the gap or squeeze a very thin adult in.
They are very comfortable and supportive seats - great for long trips, im 5"11" and average build and they fit me fine!
Hope this is of any help!
