Nankang Tyres?
Hello - Has anyone had good results with Nankang tyres on their Mini?
I have 96 Rover Mini Cooper and Nankang CX668 145/70 R12 tyres have been recommend as a replacement for the Bridgestone 145/70 SR12 tyres which need to be replaced? There doesn't seem to be a range of tyre options to fit the Mini in NZ

13 x 7 alloys/tyres
Hi there lads and ladies.
hoping someone has some information I can use to aid my problem.
so I’m in New Zealand and have done some modifications to my 1981 Morris mini, one of which is the addition of 13 x 7 alloys.
Because of this modification I have to have them certified, only I can’t due to the tyres available for this size.
according to the tyre manufactures Yokohama and Nankang the 175/50/13 tyre is not suitable for a 7th’’ rim and are only suitable for a 6‘’ rim. For a 7‘’ rim you need a wider tyre which you can’t buy with a lower enough profile that doesn’t change the overall diameter by the certified % increase. So what I am saying is in NZ anyway for a road car 13 x 7 are illegal, although I know there are many driving around on our roads.
Solution: The tyre manufactures release a statement saying the 175/50/13 are safe on a 7 ‘’ rim.
anybody out there that can help in persuading Yokohama and Nankang to do this, or know of another tyre company doing a 175/50/13 that can do the same.
cheers in advance
Deano
