Carpets
They are fairly easy to replace, its easier if you take the seats out, but you can do it with them in. Some carpets come without all the slots cut in them (for the seat rail, seat belts, gear stick etc.) this can be a pain. I also removed the seat belt catches (on the tunnel) when I did my clubman, when in place I stuck a screwdriver through the bolt hole from the underside so I could get the holes in the right place. As for tools, youll some sockets or a spanners to undo the seat mounts (7/16 ?) and the seat belt catches (not sure of the size), a pair of sissors and a small screwdriver (or similar) Hope this helps!

newton commercial are the best mini trim specialist .they sell a couple of differant carpet sets. the powder blue set i put in my mark 1 fitted a treat, and it looks great, there are no odd shapes and creases in the carpet like you get with cheap sets. you get what you pay for . Also the larger mini parts specialist are quite often advertising stocks of new genuine rover carpet sets at good prices, try minispares or the mini specialist in somerford, mention no company names.,

Wanted - Brown Carpet Set
My Clubman Estates carpets are very tired. Because its an unusually standard car, Id prefer to replace them with the same rather than simply buying new black ones. Im kicking myself as a year or so ago I sold a perfect set on Ebay for a pittance... but I hadnt bought the car then! Sods law eh? If anyone has a dark brown set from a late 1970s/early 1980s Mini in good condition, perhaps youd like to drop me an email please? rabiedmushroom@btopenworld.com Many thanks.

Ive never found an easy way, just do it carefully, bit by bit. Better to cut too little than too much.

Wet carpets!
Thanks Chris, Thought Id sorted the water leak when I replaced door and window seals. I know I have a small leak on the windscreen, but this cant be causing the wet behind the seats. Unfortunately I have a glass sun roof which contributes to the problem with drips and condensation that forms on the glass and metal frame........however, still think Ive got a leak somewhere else! Will Carpets from a D-reg fit a 1961 mk1 mini?
The title says it all really!
I am trying to find out whether the carpets from my 1987 d reg mini, will fit a 1961 mk1, just as a temporary fix until i can afford an interior trim set.
Thanks,
Matthew

There's not a lot of difference, apart from the hole for the gear-lever, of course.

I can't think of anything else that would fit - the headlining's different, the door trims are different and the rear side panel trims are different

Carpet fixing
Evening, hope some of you can help.
I have just fitted a new carpet and separate underlay in my Mini, and am having a few problems with it shifting around in the front and back. I used spray adhesive for the bits that cover the inside of the sills and crossmember, but nothing elsewhere. I see you can get metal fixings but have no idea how or if these work - anyone got any suggestions?
Cheers, Dave
