mini braking upgrade
Hi Yes, you really need new CV joints for change from drums to 7.5 disks, the drive flange of 7.5 disks is different, the CV PN is GCV1013 from the minispares catalogue. Also dont forget you need to buy the drive flange and the bolts to fit on the disks Best Regards Tito

Thank you very much for those shaft numbers. I have recently found a place that makes one piece hybrid shafts- no more weld together with a sleeve... They are thick monsters, too. I can pass along this info to anyone who wants as it's in the UK. Thank you Gavin, it is good to have those part numbers... unfortunately I have to pursue the one piece shafts as I need the strength.

Racing axles...
Question: will the racing axles part # C-BTA1266 fit the gcv1013 cv joints?
Is there a horsepower limit on either the racing axles or the cv's?
Thanks... :)

Darn- I just broke the shaft on the other side... took out the CV joint too. Made a really pretty spiral type twist with the splines. I am now looking at the competition shafts and allegro/maxi CV's. Pricey... but I hate having to walk home every other month or so. :(
It was running soooo good, too. I'm going into mini withdrawal. :(

Sweeet! I have found a used one locally but suspect it won't live long. Is there a heavy duty version, maybe something the miglia minis use? Thank you for the response.
I was saved by a british gent who has a garage in Calgary. I call it "minitopia". He has an MG with a V8 in it he wants to show me; his pride and joy I'm sure. I am going there tomorrow and will take pics if anyone is interested.
Edit: I looked up that part number and it was just for the CV joint. I snapped the SHAFT. Is there a part number for the assembly?
