These are the two early interior lamps we have remanufactured. Either early type Pointed ends or Blunt ends for any Pre October 1974 models.
Bottom picture 13H4398 white flick switch, blunt end. Both now available
14A9148 with the pointed ends and black switch was fitted to Mk1 Mini to Oct 1964 and Elf/Hornet MK2 1965. Lamp body length is 13.6cm(5.35″) by 3.40cm(1.34″) body width and listed as an alternative to the 13H192 which had blunt ends instead.
13H4398 is the most popular version replacing 14A9148 fitted from Oct 1964 with courtesy light switches, plus all Mk2/3 to 1974 when the 13H8919 (EAM1650) was introduced and superseded it. Length 13.9cm(5.47″) body width 3.70cm(1.46″).Uses 17H9971 lamp cover.
The 13H192 Wingard version with black sliding switch was listed as the alternative to 14A9148 which was eventually superseded by 13H4398 so we have no intentions of making 13H192 version with the black sliding switch. Many seem to have been fitted to post 1964 cars but might have been replacements
Summary of all the part number changes pre 1974 lamps
These were all shown in original parts lists for 997 Cooper AKD1932, Mini Mk1 AKD3502, Mini Mk2 AKD5104 plus Cooper and “S” AKD 3509.
14A9148 and 13H192 were alternatives. 13H192 when stocks were exhausted, BMC said use the later 13H4398.
14A9148 when stocks were exhausted, it was superseded by 13H8919 the 1974 onwards oblong shape lamp.The 14A9148 used a 37H9933 clear lamp cover of which some were slightly shorter but would fit the other lamps albeit with a slight gap, but our lamps use 17H9971 covers and are universal. Fitted in centre of car on 2 piece headlining but on the side above the B post on cars with hoop type headlining, as fitted to Mk3 Mini plus MK2/3 Riley Elf and Wolseley Hornet.
October 1974 to October 1984
The lamp was originally 13H8919 with a 37H5923 clear lens and replaced 13H192 and 13H4398 although a completely different shape. EAM1650 had the 24G3389 lens as shown above. 4.25″long and 1.75″ wide. Fitted from October 1974 until October 1984. This oblong lamp has the same screw hole locations as all of the early lamps which allows fitment of your choice and interchangeable. The lens 24G3389 however is only for this lamp although with modification it has been fitted to early lamps.
October 1984 to the final Mini
AFU4092 was the last type fitted and actually fitted into a recess in the headlining to give a flush appearance. Also used for other Rover vehicles and some Land Rover models of Defender and Discovery. The lamp is approx 90mm long and 35mm wide and fits to a metal bracket in roof.
