Sue, your mini looks like a 96/97 twin point injection, much the same as mine. (Mine is not a cooper or a sportspack, but a plain red mini) Will you be using Angel Eyes to replace the headlamps or to replace the spots/fogs? I thought that the headlamps on our minis were H4 bulbs fitted to lenses. On earlier minis these are sealed beams units. Can anyone offer advice as to whether both sorts of headlamps can be swapped for Angels? Thank you, David

Sportspack
Hi, the sportspack flares will kind of fit any mini, I say kind of because if your mini is not a sportpack as std you will need to cut out/roll the wheel arches (so the radius is bigger) for the SP flare to fit, they also look a bit daft with anything other than 13 x 6 or 7 wheels on IMO. If you are going the SP flare route make sure you buy genuine rover items as these will fit and last better than copies, I believe they come in primer/raw and you colour-code them yourself. If you dont fancy all the work involved above the wood and picket (W&P) flares look a bit like smaller versions of the SP flares. Hope this helps.

sportspack
I recently resprayed my sportspacks so maybe I can help you out. I dont know if you have original arches or lookalikes so there could be a difference. the original nuts and bolt are not availeble seperatly, they come with the sportspack, so in my case, some broke of, due to rust. I fixed that with some self tapping screw and washers. it still works fine.

Sportspack arch templates
You can download the templates for the arches from our host - login and scroll down to the bottom of the page. http://www.minispares.com/Auth/Downloads.aspx As far as lowering the car, I wouldnt quite yet. Its a matter of personal preference, but Id just fit the arches, make sure your suspension geometry is fully and properly sorted, and see if I liked the fit and ensure that the wheels dont rub at full lock. True Sportspack minis had a steering rack which had a larger turning radius thereby ensuring that the wheels didnt interfere with the bodywork - if you lower the beasty without first checking that you dont have interference issues, well, you might be asking for more trouble.

I am fitting non genuin sportspack arches to my 86 mini, it has 12x6 revolite wheels on and they run fine without any body work needed to be removed. The templates i downloaded sho that to fit the sportspack arches i need to cut some of the body work out, is this still needed? or is this just for larger wheels?

sportspack arch fitting
Im looking at getting a set of the sportspack arches (in fiberglass or rubber) and was wondering if anyone knew if they would fit on my car. Right now I have 12 inch wheels with 165/60R12 71H tires on them. Are the sportspack arches meant for 13 inch wheels? Also, would they stick out further than the edge of my tire? I cant imagine my wheels can be wider than 5 inches. Im going to be repainting everything soon and all i want out of this is smooth, painted arches. if the sportspack arches arent an option i suppose i could just smooth down some standard plastic ones and paint them. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sportspack arches
These kind of arches were develpoed to fit 13 wheels so 12 might look a bit funny. Id recomend dowloading the template from the fitting instructions section and just putting them on your car to imagine what they look like with 12 wheels on. I recomend Group 2 fiberglass arches for 12 wheels, theyre slightly wider than the origional plastic arches and require no mods to the wings or inner arch. Ave a look about and see wat u like but its fairly limited for 12 wheels. Stu

thanks for the reply. i did the template thing and ive decided to just paint the plastic ones that are on there now. i also managed to find several pictures of minis with painted stock arches and it looks just fine.
